Seeded Artisan Bread Dough Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose or bread flour
  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp honey or sugar
  • 2 tbsp sunflower seeds
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp flax seeds
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and honey. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour, salt, olive oil, and all the seeds. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a baking tray or in a Dutch oven.
  6. Let it rest for another 30 minutes while the oven preheats to 220°C (425°F).
  7. Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown and crusty.
  8. Cool before slicing and serving.
