Be Honest… What’s Your First Thought When You See This Steak?

A standing rib roast that’s cooked all the way through definitely gets people talking! Some love a fully cooked roast, while others think it’s a little overdone because there’s no pink center. Either way, a juicy and flavorful roast can still be absolutely delicious when seasoned and cooked properly.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 standing rib roast
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp rosemary
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 2 tbsp butter

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Rub the roast with olive oil and all seasonings.
  3. Place roast in a roasting pan bone-side down.
  4. Roast for 20 minutes to create a crust.
  5. Lower heat to 325°F (160°C) and continue cooking.
  6. Cook until desired doneness is reached.
  7. Let the roast rest for 15–20 minutes before slicing.
  8. Slice and serve warm with your favorite sides.

TIPS

  • Use a meat thermometer for accurate doneness.
  • Well-done beef should reach about 160°F internally.
  • Resting the roast keeps it juicy.
  • Add butter on top before serving for extra flavor.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
