Ingredients
For the Chicken
- 1 kg chicken pieces
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
For the Coating
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Wash and pat dry the chicken pieces.
- In a bowl, mix buttermilk, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Add chicken pieces and marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best flavor.
- In another bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, baking powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Remove chicken from marinade and coat each piece well in the flour mixture.
- Press the flour coating firmly onto the chicken for extra crispiness.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
- Fry chicken pieces for 12–15 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked.
- Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
