Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 12 slices ham
  • 12 slices turkey
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1/3 cup salted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally without separating the rolls individually. Place the bottom half into the baking dish.
  3. Layer the ham evenly over the rolls, followed by the turkey slices and Swiss cheese.
  4. Place the top half of the rolls over the layered filling.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, egg, and black pepper. Brush the mixture generously over the tops of the sliders.
  6. Cover the dish loosely with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake another 5–8 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  7. Let the sliders cool slightly before slicing and serving warm.

Tips

  • For a classic Monte Cristo taste, dust the sliders lightly with powdered sugar before serving.
  • Serve with raspberry jam or strawberry preserves for a sweet and savory combination.
  • Use smoked turkey or honey ham for extra flavor.
  • Don’t overbake, or the rolls may become too crispy.
  • These sliders are perfect for meal prep and can be reheated easily in the oven.
