A delicious and easy side dish made with fresh green beans wrapped in crispy bacon. These flavorful bundles are often coated with a sweet and savory glaze like maple syrup, brown sugar, or garlic butter. Perfect for holidays, dinners, or party appetizers, they’re simple to prepare and always a crowd favorite.
INGREDIENTS
- 400–500g fresh green beans (trimmed)
- 8–10 slices bacon (cut in half)
- 2 tbsp maple syrup or brown sugar
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and black pepper (to taste)
- Toothpicks (for securing)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Wash and trim the green beans, then pat dry.
- Take 5–7 green beans and bundle them together.
- Wrap each bundle with a half slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter, maple syrup (or brown sugar), garlic, and olive oil.
- Place bundles on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the glaze over each bundle evenly.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until bacon is crispy.
- Serve warm.
TIPS
- Partially cook bacon for 5 minutes before wrapping for extra crispiness.
- Don’t overcrowd the tray—this helps bacon crisp better.
- Add a pinch of chili flakes for a spicy twist.
- You can air-fry at 180°C for 12–15 minutes as an alternative.
- Use thick-cut bacon for richer flavor.
