INGREDIENTS
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2¼ tsp instant yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp butter (softened)
- 1 tbsp milk powder (optional for extra softness)
- Extra milk for brushing
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, yeast, and milk powder.
- Add warm milk and egg, then mix into a soft dough.
- Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Add softened butter and knead again until fully combined.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Divide dough into equal balls and place them in a greased baking tray.
- Cover and let them rise again for 30–40 minutes.
- Brush the tops with milk for a shiny golden finish.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly and enjoy warm, soft buns.
TIPS
- Use warm milk, not hot, to activate the yeast properly.
- Kneading well gives extra fluffy buns.
- Cover buns with a towel after baking to keep them soft.
- Add chocolate chips or cream filling for a tasty twist.
