- 4 large eggs
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Glaze (choose one):
- ½ cup caramel sauce or
- 1 cup powdered sugar + 2 tbsp lemon/orange juice
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a loaf pan.
- In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cake cool slightly, then remove from pan.
- Drizzle glaze over the warm cake and allow it to set before slicing.
TIPS:
- Use room-temperature ingredients for a smoother batter.
- Do not overmix; it can make the cake dense.
- Let the cake cool before glazing to avoid melting the topping too much.
- Add citrus zest for extra flavor if using lemon or orange glaze.
- Store in an airtight container to keep it moist for up to 3 days.
