O you who wraps himself [in clothing]1

— Saheeh International

Stand all night ˹in prayer˺ except a little—

˹pray˺ half the night, or a little less,

or a little more—and recite the Quran ˹properly˺ in a measured way.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

˹For˺ We will soon send upon you a weighty revelation.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

Indeed, worship in the night is more impactful and suitable for recitation.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

For during the day you are over-occupied ˹with worldly duties˺.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

˹Always˺ remember the Name of your Lord, and devote yourself to Him wholeheartedly.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

[He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs.1

Be patient ˹O Prophet˺ with what they say, and depart from them courteously.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

And leave to Me the deniers—the people of luxury—and bear with them for a little while.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

Indeed, with Us [for them] are shackles and burning fire.

And food that chokes and a painful punishment –

On the Day the earth and the mountains will convulse and the mountains will become a heap of sand pouring down.

Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness upon you just as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger.

But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a ruinous seizure.

Then how can you fear, if you disbelieve, a Day that will make the children white-haired?1

The heaven will break apart therefrom;1 ever is His promise fulfilled.

Indeed, this is a reminder, so whoever wills may take to his Lord a way.

Indeed, your Lord knows, [O Muḥammad], that you stand [in prayer] almost two thirds of the night or half of it or a third of it, and [so do] a group of those with you. And Allah determines [the extent of] the night and the day. He has known that you [Muslims] will not be able to do it1

and has turned to you in forgiveness, so recite what is easy [for you] of the Qur’ān. He has known that there will be among you those who are ill and others traveling throughout the land seeking [something] of the bounty of Allah and others fighting for the cause of Allah.

So recite what is easy from it and establish prayer and give zakāh and loan Allah a goodly loan.2 And whatever good you put forward for yourselves – you will find it with Allah. It is better and greater in reward. And seek forgiveness of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

Hadith Of The Day:

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:

When the Prophet (ﷺ) got up at night to offer the Tahajjud prayer, he used to say: Allahumma lakal-hamd. Anta qaiyyimus-samawati wal-ard wa man fihinna. Walakal-hamd, Laka mulkus-samawati wal-ard wa man fihinna. Walakal-hamd, anta nurus-samawati wal-ard. Wa lakal-hamd, anta-l-haq wa wa’duka-lhaq, wa liqa’uka Haq, wa qauluka Haq, wal-jannatu Han wan-naru Haq wannabiyuna Haq. Wa Muhammadun, sallal-lahu’alaihi wasallam, Haq, was-sa’atu Haq.

Allahumma aslamtu Laka wabika amantu, wa ‘Alaika tawakkaltu, wa ilaika anabtu wa bika khasamtu, wa ilaika hakamtu faghfir li ma qaddamtu wama akh-khartu wama as-rartu wama’a lantu, anta-l-muqaddim wa anta-l-mu akh-khir, la ilaha illa anta (or la ilaha ghairuka). (O Allah! All the praises are for you, You are the Holder of the Heavens and the Earth, And whatever is in them. All the praises are for You; You have the possession of the Heavens and the Earth And whatever is in them.

All the praises are for You; You are the Light of the Heavens and the Earth And all the praises are for You; You are the King of the Heavens and the Earth; And all the praises are for You; You are the Truth and Your Promise is the truth, And to meet You is true, Your Word is the truth And Paradise is true And Hell is true And all the Prophets (Peace be upon them) are true; And Muhammad is true, And the Day of Resurrection is true. O Allah ! I surrender (my will) to You; I believe in You and depend on You. And repent to You, And with Your help I argue (with my opponents, the non-believers) And I take You as a judge (to judge between us).

Please forgive me my previous And future sins; And whatever I concealed or revealed And You are the One who make (some people) forward And (some) backward. There is none to be worshipped but you . Sufyan said that `Abdul Karim Abu Umaiya added to the above, ‘Wala haula Wala quwata illa billah’ (There is neither might nor power except with Allah).
