INGREDIENTS
- 1 large piece fresh ginger root
- 4 cups water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
- A few mint leaves (optional)
- Ice cubes for serving
INSTRUCTIONS
- Wash and peel the fresh ginger root.
- Slice the ginger into thin pieces.
- Add water and ginger slices to a pot.
- Boil for 10–15 minutes on medium heat.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Strain the ginger water into a jug or glass.
- Add lemon juice and honey if desired.
- Serve warm or chilled with ice cubes and mint leaves.
