INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup Kulthi Dal (Horse Gram Seeds)
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 garlic cloves (crushed)
  • 1 small piece ginger (grated)
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Honey (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Wash the kulthi dal thoroughly.
  2. Soak it overnight in clean water.
  3. Add soaked dal and 3 cups water to a pot.
  4. Boil for 25–30 minutes until soft.
  5. Add cumin, garlic, ginger, and turmeric.
  6. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
  7. Strain the water or enjoy as soup.
  8. Add lemon juice and black pepper before serving.
