3 Powerful Duas to Recite Every Day in Ramadan

Ramadan is a month of mercy, forgiveness, and immense blessings. It is the time when every act of worship carries multiplied rewards, and the doors of Jannah are wide open. One of the best ways to make the most of this sacred month is through duacalling upon Allah with sincerity and devotion.

There are countless duas one can recite in Ramadan, but three particularly powerful supplications should be part of our daily routine. These duas focus on seeking freedom from Hellfire, witnessing the blessed Laylatul Qadr, and asking Allah to accept our deeds. Let’s explore their meanings, significance, and why they should be on our lips every day in Ramadan.

1. Seeking Freedom from Hellfire

رَبَّنَا اعْتِقْ رِقَابَنَا مِنَ النَّارِ
Rabbana A’atik riqabana minan naar
(Our Lord, save our necks from the Fire.)

One of the greatest blessings of Ramadan is the opportunity for Allah to free us from Hellfire. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

“Every night in Ramadan, Allah has people whom He redeems from the Fire.” (Tirmidhi 682)

This dua is short but incredibly profound. It is a plea for salvation, asking Allah to save us, our families, and our loved ones from the punishment of Hell. By making this dua daily, we acknowledge our sins and shortcomings while seeking Allah’s mercy and forgiveness.

How to Implement This Dua in Ramadan:

  • Recite it after every prayer, especially during Taraweeh and Tahajjud.
  • Make it a habit to say it before breaking your fast, as duas at iftar are highly accepted.
  • Reflect on the meaning, and ask Allah sincerely to protect you and your loved ones from Hellfire.

2. Asking to Witness Laylatul Qadr

اللَّهُمَّ بَلِّغْنَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ
Allahumma balighna Laylatul Qadr
(Oh Allah, allow us to reach Laylatul Qadr.)

Laylatul Qadr (The Night of Decree) is the most powerful night of the year. Worship on this night is better than a thousand months (Quran 97:3), meaning that sincere prayers and good deeds performed on this single night carry rewards equivalent to 83 years of worship!

However, not everyone is blessed to witness Laylatul Qadr with full devotion. Many people become busy or distracted and miss out on its blessings. This dua is a heartfelt request to Allah, asking Him to grant us the opportunity to experience this night and maximize its rewards.

How to Prepare for Laylatul Qadr:

  • Recite this dua daily, especially in the last ten nights of Ramadan.
  • Increase acts of worship, including prayer, Quran recitation, and charity.
  • Seek forgiveness and make personal duas, as this night is when destinies are written.

The Prophet (ﷺ) advised us to recite the following dua on Laylatul Qadr:

“اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ العَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي”
“Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni”
(O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love to forgive, so forgive me.) (Tirmidhi 3513)

Don’t let this Ramadan pass without sincerely asking Allah to grant you Laylatul Qadr!

3. Asking Allah to Accept Our Deeds

رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا إِنَّكَ أَنتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
Rabbana taqabbal minna innaka Antas Samee’ul Aleem
(Our Lord, accept from us. Indeed, You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.)

This dua is taken from the Quran (2:127) and was made by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and Prophet Ismail (AS) while building the Kaaba. It teaches us a crucial lesson: no matter how much we worship, we should never be overconfident in our deeds. Instead, we should always ask Allah to accept them.

Ramadan is full of prayers, fasting, charity, and good deeds. But what if our efforts are not accepted? That’s why this dua is essential—it acknowledges our dependence on Allah’s mercy and asks Him to grant us sincerity in our worship.

How to Ensure Our Deeds Are Accepted:

  • Perform every act of worship with sincerity (ikhlas), seeking only Allah’s pleasure.
  • Stay away from pride and self-righteousness.
  • Recite this dua regularly, especially after completing good deeds like fasting, prayer, and charity.

The companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) were so conscious about their deeds being accepted that they used to spend six months after Ramadan praying that Allah would accept their fasting. This shows how important this dua is in maintaining humility and sincerity in our worship.

Make These Duas a Daily Habit!

These three short yet powerful duas can completely transform your Ramadan experience. They cover the most important aspects of this blessed month—seeking Allah’s mercy and protection, striving for Laylatul Qadr, and ensuring that our efforts are accepted.

🌙 Make it a goal to recite these duas daily in Ramadan! Set a reminder, write them down, and reflect on their meanings. May Allah grant us the ability to make the most of this Ramadan, accept our duas, and bless us with His mercy—Ameen!
