Shapes and Geometry Worksheets
Our 1st grade geometry worksheets are designed to help young learners identify and draw various two-dimensional shapes, such as squares, rectangles, circles, triangles, ovals, and diamonds (also known as rhombuses). Additionally, these worksheets introduce basic concepts of rotating and scaling shapes, along with an introduction to 3D shapes.
2D Shapes
- Names of Shapes: These worksheets help students learn and identify the names of basic 2D shapes.
- Identifying Shapes: Students will practice identifying and categorizing different shapes through various examples.
- Drawing Shapes: Activities are provided for drawing 2D shapes, allowing students to develop their understanding of geometry by creating shapes themselves.
- Drawing Mirror Images: These exercises focus on drawing mirror images with lines of symmetry, helping students understand symmetry and balance in shapes.
- Rotating & Scaling Shapes:
- Rotate 2D Shapes: Students will practice rotating 2D shapes to understand how shapes change orientation.
- Scale 2D Shapes: These worksheets help students learn how to scale shapes, expanding or shrinking them while maintaining their proportions.
- Relative Positions & Shapes: Through these exercises, students will learn about the relative positions of shapes, such as above, below, beside, and so on.
3D Shapes
- Names of 3D Shapes: As an introduction to 3D geometry, these worksheets help students familiarize themselves with the names and basic characteristics of three-dimensional shapes.
This post is perfect for educators or parents looking for resources to support 1st graders in their early geometry learning journey.
